Our 2025 Social Impact Report: Initial Outcomes from 20 States

Financial Health is Mental Health
That belief is one of the reasons we built GamFin, and a growing body of research now backs it up. Today we're sharing our 2025 Social Impact Report: an evidence-based look at the people GamFin serves, the financial strain they face, and the outcomes of financial counseling alongside behavioral healthcare treatment and recovery for gambling addiction.

What we've learned so far
GamFin brings financial counseling into gambling addiction treatment and recovery, working alongside clinicians, because financial wellness and clinical recovery reinforce each other. We began measuring outcomes in early 2025 in New York state, in partnership with OASAS and NYCPG, then expanded across the country.
From May to December across 20 states, 73.1% of clients came from at least one traditionally underserved community. An independent analysis by Gamblytics, LLC, our research partner for this study, found that anxiety, depression, and gambling severity all declined across sessions, while financial wellness improved. Of the clients who came in at the clinical level for Problem Gambling, 24.3% had dropped below it within three sessions. Improving financial wellness was the strongest predictor of lower gambling severity.
What comes next
This is just the start. In addition to improving our financial counseling experience for our clients and our clinical partners with proprietary technology, we're building an app to expand access for people struggling with gambling addiction, scale our impact, and support individuals and families over the long term.
