# GamFin > GamFin provides free, confidential financial counseling for individuals and families experiencing financial distress due to gambling. Counseling is delivered virtually by credentialed counselors and is funded by state agencies, problem-gambling councils, and behavioral-health partners — clients in partner states never see a bill. GamFin is a service of MoneyStack, Inc. (Pittsburgh, PA). Counselors are trained specifically to address the financial side of gambling addiction — building a realistic budget, managing debt, and creating a personalized GamFin Financial Recovery Plan™. They do not sell financial products, take commissions, or provide investment advice. All client information is handled in a HIPAA-compliant manner and is shared only with the client's written consent. Two primary services: (1) one-on-one virtual financial counseling (most clients benefit from 3–4 sessions); (2) free nationwide virtual group sessions — a low-pressure way to start. Behavioral-health providers can refer clients into GamFin, integrate counseling into clinical treatment plans, and access training for working with gambling-affected clients.
